I was struck this week, perhaps it was last, by the United States’ refusal to accept any Russia-Ukraine peace deal, or cease fire, brokered by China. Here is an interesting quote from The Guardian, itself of course part of corporate media:
Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv to mark the first anniversary of Moscow’s full-scale attack, the Ukrainian president said he “wanted to believe” Beijing was interested in a “fair peace”. That meant not “supplying weapons to Russia”, he said, adding: “I’m doing my best to prevent that from happening. This is priority number one.”
Western leaders are sceptical about the proposal, and argue that Beijing does not have the international credibility to act as a mediator. Joe Biden said on Friday night that the idea of China negotiating the out come of the war was “just not rational”.
Assuming for the moment, a huge assumption, that this is actually Ukraine’s war, only Ukraine and Russia could negotiate its end. Any number of parties I suppose, could facilitate the negotiations. But based on Zelenskiy’s words, “that meant not ‘supplying weapons to Russia;’” that stance rules out all NATO countries as facilitator, because all of them are supplying weapons to Ukraine, and would by the same logic be unacceptable to the Russians.
But this begs the larger question, who are we to rule out the Chinese as facilitator, the idea being “just not rational,” according to Biden.
According to Politico, now a leftist rag and mouthpiece for the United States government:
Secretary of State Antony Blinken told ABC News on Friday that it showed China trying to draw the world’s eyes away from its support of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“China’s been trying to have it both ways — it’s on the one hand trying to present itself publicly as neutral and seeking peace, while at the same time it is talking up Russia’s false narrative about the war,” Blinken said.
Accusing Russia of presenting a “false narrative,” … I don’t even have words to describe the total hypocrisy of that statement from Blinken. We, the high and mighty, the morally pure, the righteous United States, organized a coup in Ukraine, ousting a democratically elected leader just 10 years ago, and we are accusing the Russians of a false narrative?! Without any question at all, none whatsoever, we have been the direct cause of more “regime change” in the world over the course of the last eight decades than any other nation, and probably more than all other nations combined! The United States is absolutely the worst of the worst when it comes to “election interference.” I will argue that it is the CIA’s job #1 to facilitate by whatever means necessary regime change; that’s what they do. And I will argue one more point; this is really our war in Ukraine, it is a proxy war against Russia and the Ukrainians are fighting and dying in our stead. That is why we can say No to a peace deal.
I’ll let you in on something else, our government could not care less about Ukrainians dying in this war. Collateral damage, nothing more. And, you won’t read or hear a single damn thing from the government’s corporate media servants on the subject. Not a word.
Okay…my blood pressure went up there for a minute…the constant lying from my government, and their totally co-opted media partners, is simply infuriating. So, where can you go for the truth? I can only tell you where I go for the truth; Glenn Greenwald. He is as evenhanded as they come, speaks truth to power, and is now publishing video on Rumble and print on Locals.com exclusively. He used to be on substack for print journalism, but unfortunately left for Locals a few months ago, as part of his deal with Rumble. I may do the same if substack does not add support for embedding Rumble videos, as it currently does only for the censored-speech alternative that is YouTube. But I digress. Greenwald published a video regarding what I discussed above, “U.S. Rejects Peace,” on Mar 21; I highly recommended it, if you have interest in what is really going on in Ukraine. Until substack gets with the Rumble program, you will have to click on the link; I give you a screenshot of the video thumbnail below.
Thanks for the recommendations.
