I suspect we're *at least* as much at risk for a CME type EMP as a man-made one. The magnetic polar shift if significantly weakening the protection from such solar flares - so it won't take as much to destroy our transmission facilities as the Carrington Event brought, and tbh - we're overdue.

I think it's safe to say, that a CME type EMP is a certainty; it's just a matter of time and the probabilities catch up to us. The EMP by nuclear detonation...perhaps that technology is obsolete; the grid can be crashed by hacking, why would I use a nuke, which is going to be extremely difficult to put in the upper atmosphere without drawing attention to the perpetrator. What do you think?

I've decided that most don't want to know; the truth makes them too uncomfortable, and to admit to the truth might require them to do something other than what they've always done. I could be wrong.
